Leadership Program Meets with Renowned Educator Shimon Waronker
On May 11th, the Hidden Sparks School Leadership program participated in this year’s culminating principals’ program with a meeting with Shimon Waronker, Founder & CEO of The New American Initiative, Inc. to discuss the best practices of school leaders. Mr. Waronker, a renowned educator and Lubavitcher Chasid, who has transformed a violent NYC public school and opened three flourishing schools welcomed the school leaders to his Brooklyn Charter School, the New American Academy.
The morning began with participants observing collaborative team meetings, an important component of Mr. Waronker’s innovative model. Participants also heard from Mr. Waronker, who made a dynamic presentation on tenets of leadership and his philosophy of focusing on teachers and the degree to which he empowers his teams of teachers to be active decision makers.
